Wolbachia pipientis: Niterói in three periods (2015, 2017 and 2022)

In this exhibition-installation, we bring a reproduction of the insectarium, a unique part of the biofactory, so that Wolbitos can be released into the territory. The cages were transformed into windows, better said, portals, that take us to the memories of the Wolbachia Method, in Niterói (RJ).  The images chosen are part of the project's collection and seek to contemplate the historical axis, as well as the protagonists of the implementation, partners and supporters. Unique moments, records that are now shared with everyone.

Wolbito exhibition
at school

The Wolbachia Method was developed by the World Mosquito Program (WMP), a global, non-profit initiative that works to protect communities from mosquito-borne diseases. This initiative is present in several countries and, in Brazil, it is led by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz).

The Wolbachia Method is an innovation in public health and has already shown positive results in reducing arboviruses transmitted by Aedes aegypti.

The traveling exhibition Wolbito at School, 2021, integrates WMP Brasil's Communication and Community Engagement actions, promoting scientific dissemination and discussing environmental and health education.

If I Were Me

“Who asked the first question? Who made the world? If it was God, who made God? Who said the first word? ..."

These questions, and many others, asked by the writer Clarice Lispector in her text “I am a question”, were the starting point for us to ask even more questions about ourselves. The result is the exhibition you will see here.

The images presented in this exhibition, which opens on December 21, 2013 and closes on April 29, 2014, are self-portraits of participants in the artisanal pinhole photography workshop held byHand in the Can, at the invitation ofMoreira Salles Institute, in partnership with Parque da Rocinha Library/C4. What is pinhole? What is self-portrait? These could be questions asked by Clarice or even by you.

Exhibition
Rocinha Nordestina

Retelling stories of their parents and grandparents, four young people, descendants of Northeasterners, came together to record the daily life of the community. The language they use is the visual poetics of photography.

This exhibition, exclusive to theGonzagueando, which opens today, June 29, 2013, at Knowledge Square, is a short overview of northeastern culture and tradition that camouflages itself in front of an agitated and inattentive look that glimpses the "freneticity" of today's Rocinha: The ancestral wrinkle that carries the guitar, referring to the sertão; The recipe for Sunday beans that mom learned from grandma, and that only works if it's prepared with lots of memories. Just like the rustic costume, waiting to come to life in the dances of the traditional parish festival.
